Short Vita of the Artist
Leo Horbach (1951) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts (formerly: City Academy for Applied Arts) in Maastricht. He lives and works in Landgraaf. Since the 1980s, he has been working in a wide range of disciplines: drawing, painting, ceramics, bronze, stone, applied design, digital fine art, and furniture design. With stone as the starting point for his two- and three-dimensional work, Leo Horbach creates a "petrified (un)reality" that is narrative, sensual, anecdotal, sometimes surreal or metaphysical.
